Energy Efficiency – MEIMEI has assisted clients in evaluating energy efficient building design as related to LEED and Title 24 energy standards as well as building materials assessment with specialized experience associated with windows, insulation, heating and ventilation, and building commissioning.

Water Efficiency – Mechanical engineers and material scientists at MEIMEI assist clients in evaluating fixture efficiency, compatibility with applicable plumbing codes and material defect investigations. In addition, our civil engineers, hydrologists, chemists and material scientists assist clients with issues related to water quality supply and treatment.

Sustainable Sites – MEIMEI approaches the analysis of a site as a system of interconnected geological, hydro-logical, ecological, climatological, and anthropogenic features. We routinely perform site characterization investigations that assist our clients with resource conservation, erosion control, environmental impact assessment, development of regulatory strategies and cost-effective remedial (brownfields) solutions.

Building Products – The introduction of new green building materials presents challenges for the building industry including long-term strength and durability, constructability, and training and skill levels of building trades. MEIMEI has been evaluating building failures for over 14 years and has extensive experience with field studies, laboratory testing including simulation of environmental conditions, product performance and off-gassing simulations, engineering analysis, and identification of repairs for faulty or damaged building components and envelopes.

Indoor Environmental Quality – A green building must provide energy efficiency and a healthy and comfortable environment for its occupants. Factors such as insufficient air flow and exchange rates, poor lighting, noise, excessive vibration, and air contaminants all affect occupant comfort, productivity, and sense of well-being. MEIMEI industrial hygienists experienced in the fields of exposure assessment, hazard identification, vapor and moisture intrusion, causation analysis, and indoor physical factors routinely perform evaluations of interior building spaces and advise clients regarding the periodic monitoring and management of sound indoor environmental quality programs.

HVAC and Mechanical Systems – In addition to providing guidance on energy efficiency, MEIMEI’s mechanical engineers have expertise in building pressure management, temperature control, moisture control, and other areas of mechanical design. These services are provided during the design stage and/or after construction when unexpected results are encountered.

Construction Services – MEIMEI has extensive experience managing construction projects and can utilize sophisticated project controls to minimize construction delays and/or claims on green projects. In the event that a claim occurs, MEIMEI can assist clients throughout the entire claim process.

Green Power – MEIMEI’s electrical engineers and material scientists provide technical consulting to the photovoltaic industry, specifically related to PV degradation, evaluation of substation design and efficiency, as well as regulatory and intellectual property support.
